Tibor
SZEMZŐ, graduated at the Hungarian
Academy of Music in Budapest, has been writing, composing and performing
music for 30 years.
Tibor SZEMZŐ,
a Hungarian musician and also a filmmaker, has composed soundtracks for
numerous films and documentaries of his own and others, such as Peter
Forgacs's series of documentaries entitled PRIVATE HUNGARY, and
Rob Epstein & Jeffrey Friedman's PARAGRAPH 175, the winner
of the Documentary Jury in the Sundance Film Festival and International
Film Critics Award in the Berlin International Film Festival. Recordings
of SZEMZŐ's
music have been released on the HPS, Hungaroton, and Leo labels.
As a musician,Tibor
SZEMZŐ
was the founder of the acclaimed Hungarian modern ensemble Group 180 during
the 1980s; his current performance group, The Gordian Knot, was founded
in 1998.
